In diving a Staff Instructor is a qualified Diving Instructor who has attained a superior qualification in the PADI diving training system.
Staff Instructors are key members of the PADI diver training family, reponsible for formling new diving Instructors and supporting current Instructors. As their name indicates, IDC Staff Instructors participate in the training of Instructors and share their knowledge and experience with new PADI leaders.
Participating in the IDC Staff Instructor course will allow you to gain a deeper knowledge of the process of training Instructors and prepare you to train the next generation of PADI Pro’s. It’s also an excellent career choice.

- Be a Master Scuba Diver Trainer
- Be an Emergency First Response Instructor
- Agree to training all dive levels using the standards and philosophy stipulated in the PADI Instructor Manual, PADI’s Guide to Teaching and the PADI Course Director Manual
- Agree to use the PADI system and it’s components in their entirety
Objectives
IDC Staff Instructor is the first level of PADI Trainer. You’ll start to train Instructors under the supervision of a Course Director and you can independently train Assistant Instructors.
You will be a model and a mentor for future PADI Instructors.
What you can do after becoming certified
As an IDC Staff Instructor, you can:
- Present parts of the IDC (Instructor Development Course) curriculum under the supervision of a Course Director
- Conduct the Assistant Instructor course independently.

The course is done in two stages (compulsory and in this order):
- Two days training to be agreed upon according to your availability.

- Obtenir une note de 80% à chaque section de l’Examen sur la Théorie de la plongée et réviser toutes les questions erronées jusqu’à ce que la maîtrise soit atteinte. développement des connaissances. - Obtenir une note minimale de 4.0 à une présentation pédagogique en milieu
protégé. - Assister aux quatre séances de Développement des connaissances du cours IDC
Staff Instructor. - Satisfaire aux paramètres suivants dans la notation des évaluations:
- Attribuer la même note de contrôle à trois sections sur les cinq sections des critères d’évaluation des présentations pédagogiques pour deux présentations sur trois.
- Attribuer la même note de contrôle à trois sections sur les cinq sections des critères d’évaluation des présentations pédagogiques en milieu protégé pour deux présentations sur trois.
- Attribuer la même note de contrôle à trois sections sur les quatre (sans démonstration) ou trois sections sur les cinq (démonstration requise) sections des critères d’évaluation des présentations en milieu naturel pour deux présentations sur trois.
- Assister à un IDC complet en étant présent à toutes les sections obligatoires du curriculum de l’IDC.
